YouTube unveils new AI tools for content creation

YouTube is making it easier for content creators to produce amazing videos with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).

At its Made on YouTube event in New York on Thursday, the company announced a range of new AI tools that will be available on the platform soon.
These tools aim to simplify the process of creating, editing, and finding music for videos, as well as provide insights and suggestions for improving the performance of the content.

Dream Screen: AI video generator

One of the most exciting tools that YouTube revealed is Dream Screen, which will let creators generate videos or video backgrounds from text.
Dream Screen will allow creators to simply type in an idea for a visual and, in less than a minute, the AI tool will generate videos or video backgrounds.
For example, if a creator types in “a sunset over the ocean”, Dream Screen will produce a video of a beautiful seascape.
YouTube showed some examples of Dream Screen at the event, and the results were impressive. The AI-generated videos looked realistic and consistent, unlike some other AI video generators that tend to produce glitchy or distorted images.
Dream Screen could be useful for creators who want to add some variety or spice to their videos, especially those who use green screens or need backgrounds for their content.

YouTube Create: Mobile video editor

Another new tool that YouTube announced is YouTube Create, a mobile video editing app that is available in beta starting today.
YouTube Create is designed to help creators edit long-form videos on their phones, with features such as background noise removal, caption generation, and royalty-free music selection.
YouTube Create also has an AI-powered feature called “Find Beats”, which automatically marks “interesting” points in a song on the timeline to help creators edit their videos to the music.
YouTube Create is similar to CapCut, a popular mobile video editing app from TikTok, one of YouTube’s biggest rivals.
YouTube Create is currently available for Android users in eight countries, including the U.S. and the U.K., and will be released for iOS users next year.

Finding Music with AI: Music search tool

YouTube also introduced a new AI tool that will help creators find the perfect music for their videos.
Starting next year, creators will be able to search for music in YouTube Studio by describing their video or the type of music they are looking for.
They can also specify the length of the song, the mood, the genre, or the artist they want.
The AI tool will then suggest “the right track at the right price”, meaning that it will show the music that matches the criteria and the license fee, if any.
This tool could make it easier for creators to find music that suits their content and their budget, without having to browse through thousands of songs manually.

AI insights and dubbing: Content analysis and optimization tool

Finally, YouTube announced a new AI tool that will provide insights and suggestions for improving the performance of the content.
This tool will be available in YouTube Studio next year, and will allow creators to analyze their content and how it performs in terms of views, engagement, and revenue.
The AI tool will also provide a bullet point breakdown of some potential points they can hit within the video to maximize its performance, such as the title, the thumbnail, the tags, the description, and the call to action.
Additionally, the AI tool will offer a dubbing feature, which will enable creators to translate their videos into different languages using AI-generated voices.
This tool could help creators reach a wider audience and optimize their content for better results.

YouTube’s AI vision

YouTube’s CEO Neal Mohan opened the event with a quick history of the platform, and said that YouTube’s vision is to make creation accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
“Generative AI will make that possible”, he said, referring to the new AI tools that YouTube is launching.
He also said that YouTube is committed to supporting and empowering its creators, and that the company will continue to invest in AI and other technologies to enhance the platform.
YouTube’s new AI tools are expected to roll out gradually over the next year, and will likely change the way creators produce and share their videos on the platform.

YouTube unveils new AI tools for content creation
YouTube is introducing some new features for its creators that will make use of artificial intelligence (AI). One of them is AI Insights, which will give them useful data and feedback on their videos.
Another one is AI Dubbing, which will let them reach a wider audience by translating their videos into different languages. This feature has been in testing for a while, as Mashable reported earlier. It will work with just a click, and the viewers will be able to choose their preferred language from the video settings. YouTube says that for now, the AI Dubbing will not try to mimic the creator’s voice or make their lips match the words.
AI is a powerful tool, but it also raises some ethical questions, especially when it comes to art and creativity. YouTube knows this, and that’s why it invited some of its successful creators, like Cleo Abram from Huge If True, and some of its executives, to talk about these issues.
Abram, who is a video journalist, said that AI can be a positive force for innovation, if we use it wisely. She compared it to how photography was seen as a threat by some artists when it first appeared. She said that YouTube’s goal is to “close the gap” between what the creators want to do and what they can do. A YouTube representative also said that the company follows some AI principles to ensure “responsible” creation.
The main message that YouTube wanted to convey at this year’s Made for YouTube event was this: “Generative AI is the next big shift.” And YouTube wants to be at the forefront of it.
