India’s success at the 48th International Emmy Awards. The Best Drama Series award went to Netflix’s web series ‘Delhi Crime’, based on the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case.
A paramedical student was gang-raped on a moving bus in the heart of the Khas capital Delhi. The boyfriend was severely beaten for obstructing. After the brutal torture, an iron rod was inserted in the genitals of the student. The victim and her boyfriend were then thrown from the moving bus. There was no benefit even after treatment. In the end, the young woman died. The whole country is in a frenzy over the bone-chilling Nirbhaya. Those convicted in that 2012 incident were sentenced to death this year. Netflix’s web series ‘Delhi Crime’ is about Nirbhaya gang rape and murder. Where Shefali Shah played the role of Deputy Commissioner of Police, the director was Richie Mehta. Emmy Awards for the success of ‘Delhi Crime’. This web series selected the Best Drama Series.
Arjun Mathur was nominated for Best Actor in ‘Made In Heaven’ at Amazon Prime. However, he did not receive the award. Billy Barrett has been selected as the best for ‘Responsible Child’. Prime Video’s ‘Four More Shots Please’ was nominated in the Best Comedy Series category. This series, however, did not win the award. Last year, Radhika Apte won the Best Actress award for ‘Last Story’. L award in India again.
Coronavirus has cut the rhythm of all ceremonies. The 48th International Emmy Awards is no exception. This year, the award ceremony was made virtual, keeping in mind the Covid situation. For the first time in New York, USA, there were no spectators at the awards ceremony. Actor Richard Kind conducted the show when it was empty.
