The Mumbai Police recently filed an FIR that named prominent figures, including Dabur Group's Mohit V. Burman, Gaurav V. Burman, and Bollywood actor Sahil Khan, in connection to the Mahadev betting app case. The allegations have sparked controversy and led to swift responses from the accused.

According to the FIR filed on November 7, the Mahadev betting app has been accused of fraudulent activities amounting to over ₹15,000 crore. Prakash Bankar, a social worker, initiated the complaint against the app, prompting a thorough investigation by law enforcement agencies. The FIR invokes sections of the Indian Penal Code, the IT Act, and the Gambling Act.

However, Dabur Group was quick to issue an official statement denying any knowledge of the FIR. They labeled the allegations as baseless, emphasizing that no communication regarding the FIR had been received. The company strongly condemned what they termed as a "mischievous act driven by malicious intent" and expressed confidence in the legal process to prove their innocence.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has actively pursued the investigation into the illegal betting app syndicate. Raids conducted on Mahadev Book in Chhattisgarh have revealed crucial evidence, leading to the detention of the app owners under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The Centre has also taken measures to block 22 illegal betting platforms, including the Mahadev app, as requested by the ED.

The FIR further implicates Mohit Burman and Gaurav Burman in alleged connections to bookies involved in match-fixing within cricket leagues. The complaint suggests that the industrialists have stakes in a cricket league team and have partnered with one of the accused individuals. The ongoing investigation aims to unearth additional evidence regarding their purported involvement in match-fixing activities.

Additionally, scrutiny has extended to several Bollywood actors accused of promoting the illegal betting app. Names including Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Nushrat Bharucha, Sunny Leone, and others are under investigation for their alleged association with the app.

The unfolding of events in this case suggests a broader investigation into the intersection of entertainment, industry, and alleged criminal activities. As the legal process progresses, further revelations and evidence may come to light, shedding more clarity on the alleged involvements and their implications.
