Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris Are Dating After Their Recent Divorces
Sophia Bush, the star of One Tree Hill and Chicago P.D., has found love again after her split from her husband Grant Hughes. The actress is dating Ashlyn Harris, a professional soccer player who plays for the Orlando Pride and the U.S. women's national team.
According to a source close to the couple, Bush and Harris have been friends for a long time and decided to give romance a try after their respective divorces. "After being friends for years, and running in the same social circles, Sophia and Ashlyn went out on their first dinner date a couple of weeks ago,” the source tells PEOPLE exclusively. “This is so recent, and they are both beginning new chapters.”
Bush, 41, and Hughes, 42, separated in August after 13 months of marriage. The former couple met during the COVID-19 pandemic and bonded over their passion for community service. They co-founded a nonprofit organization called Voice in Action that aims to empower young people to become leaders and activists. "Sophia and Grant were friends for 10 years and bonded during COVID through their love of community service,” a source said at the time of their breakup. “They continue to run their nonprofit together and remain good friends.”
Harris, 37, filed for divorce from her wife and fellow soccer star, Ali Krieger, 38, in September. The two soccer players met in 2010 while playing for the national team and got married in December 2019. They share two children: a son named Kai, who was born in February 2021 via surrogate, and a daughter named Liv, who was adopted in July 2021. "Although it’s new information to the public, Ashlyn and Ali’s divorce began months ago and they have been living apart since the summer,” the insider says.
The source adds that there is no drama or bad blood between Bush and Harris and their exes. "There is no salacious story,” the source says. “Though the public may want there to be."
Bush and Harris have not publicly confirmed their relationship yet, but they have been spotted together in Los Angeles and Orlando. They also follow each other on Instagram and have liked each other's posts.
Bush has previously dated her One Tree Hill co-stars Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, and Austin Nichols, as well as Google executive Dan Fredinburg. Harris has previously dated soccer players Ella Masar and Erika Tymrak.
