How was the movie? Good? Will you go and see it?
– I will say to those who are traveling with this type of question in mind, you should watch it. Go to the hall. watch movies will have fun
And those who came to read the review, proceed to the bottom.
In short, Afran Nisho’s big screen debut and Raihan Rafi’s dream project have come true.
◼️ Since the announcement, excitement, and frenzy among the audience! Afran Nisho was the big reason for that. But the presence of Raihan Rafi in the direction added extra excitement. But after the teaser/trailer, the real curiosity arises. According to the name of the movie, everyone thinks that there is an incident around ‘Surongo‘. How many people had put up so many theories? Many thought it could be a Prison Break like ‘The Shawshank Redemption’. I thought it was a treasure story like ‘Tumbbad’.
◼️ But what is the story of this Surongo? But you don’t get a clear idea of it until you watch the movie. Such was the plan of those concerned. To create an extreme level of curiosity in the mind of the audience and not to understand the beginning and the end of the movie. ‘Hawa’ did exactly that. But ‘Surongo’ is universal rather than focused on a specific audience like ‘Hawa’.
◼️ The story of ‘Surongo’ is good. Thrill and suspense are accompanied by drama, comedy, and crisis. But what makes a good story fully worthwhile is the screenplay. The story needs a lot of buildup before getting to the plot points. ‘Surongo’ does that very well. 2: spent almost an hour and a half of the 30-minute movie just to get to the main plot point. But I think it would have been better to take the midpoint a little earlier with a little less time in the setup. The resolution of the movie seemed a bit rushed to me. But I think the most important part of the screenplay is the climax. This is where ‘Surongo’ really comes into its own. In the end, it gave out (the fire).

◼️ I got exactly what I expected from Afran Nisho in acting. He has also been able to prove his skills in movies like Natak Telefilms. Able to connect with the audience. Tama Mirza didn’t like it much at first but later found out, no; ok But Shahiduzzaman Selim won the audience from the middle. The theater audience applauded his every dialogue.
◼️ The cinematography and music were also good. I didn’t appreciate it too much. Because I saw ‘Prohelika’ just before that. Technically, ‘Prahelika’ is one of the best Bangladeshi movies I have seen. We will talk about that later.
So this was my experience with ‘Surongo’. I did not mention the story, because many people can make many ideas from one line. In the end, I will say one thing, the days of Bengali cinema are turning. Everyone is trying to make quality movies. The hope and belief that we will see more good work in the future is getting stronger.
