Bangladeshi Web Film 'Taqdeer' Officially Remade in Telugu as 'Dayaa'

The popular Bangladeshi web series "Taqdeer," which received critical acclaim and captured the hearts of audiences, is all set to be remade in Telugu. Titled "Dayaa," the official Telugu remake of the series will be released on Disney+ Hotstar, featuring a talented ensemble cast.


Directed by Pavan Sadineni, "Dayaa" stars JD Chakravarthy, Eesha Rebba, Remya Nambeesan, Prudhvi Raj, Kamal Kamaraju, and Josh Ravi in key roles. Hoichoi, the production company behind the original series, took to Twitter to announce the exciting news, stating, "Proud moment for us, as the #hoichoiOriginal series #Taqdeer gets officially remade in Telugu!"

Syed Ahmed Shawki, the director of the original "Taqdeer" series, confirmed to The Daily Star that the shooting for "Dayaa" has already been completed, signaling the upcoming release of the Telugu version.

"Taqdeer" is a gripping sociopolitical crime thriller that delves into the emotional journey of its lead character. The series revolves around Chanchal Chowdhury's portrayal of a man who becomes entangled in a murder scandal after discovering a mysterious corpse in his freezer van.

Apart from the talented leads, "Taqdeer" also featured notable performances from Monoj Pramanik, Partha Barua, Intekhab Dinar, Sanjeeda Preeti, and Sohel Rana, among others, who played pivotal roles in the original series.

The success and recognition garnered by "Taqdeer" in Bangladesh prompted the decision to bring its engaging narrative and powerful performances to a wider audience through the official Telugu remake, "Dayaa."
