In Noakhali, the housewife was rescued in four pieces, two pieces
Police have recovered two pieces of the body of a housewife from a paddy field.
In Noakhali's Begumganj Upazila, a housewife was gang-raped and stripped naked and tortured to death. Police recovered two pieces of the housewife's body from a paddy field behind the Pravida Feed Factory in Uttar Jahajmara village of Char Jabbar Union in Subarnachar Upazila around 5 pm on Wednesday (October 8).
The deceased was identified as Nur Jahan Begum, 42, wife of late Abdul Barek of the same area.
Humayun Kabir, 24, son of the deceased, said his mother had been missing since Wednesday morning. Later in the afternoon, a local woman went to look for snails in a paddy field and found two pieces of her mother's body.
"When the matter came to light, I went to the spot and identified my mother's body part," he said.
Char Jabbar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahed Uddin said the head and waist of the slain housewife were recovered. However, the chest and leg parts have not been found yet.
OC Shahed Uddin further said, “Two body parts were recovered from the spot and sent to the morgue of Noakhali General Hospital for autopsy. The police are looking into the matter.
